My poor Patty-Watty! She does not want to get up this morning, her second day back to school after Winter Break! Bless her heart, she ate breakfast then crashed out on the couch again.
I gotta say, I did not see this coming after a really good first day back to school. Actually, I should have known there would be trouble when she had a sudden burst of energy at bedtime last night. But, what's a mom to do? Let her sleep a little longer, of course! Thankfully, our mornings have a little downtime so she can get a little more sleep and still get to school on time.
I don't know about you, but I like these short school weeks. Three days is much better than five. I had a super productive New Year's night, making two lunches (Friday is pizza day so no lunch from home needed) and three snacks for her short week. It's pretty rewarding to wake up and not have to rush around the kitchen getting lunch and snack assembled for the day.
If only the laundry and dish washing chores could be handled so effortlessly!
You are a better mom that I am. I did a happy dance yesterday when I dropped the girls off at their respective schools. Although I totally agree the 2nd day back was more difficult for them.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
lol. thank you for leaving a comment! the first day back was the first day of the car rider drop off line for us and i did do a happy dance when it went smoothly!
DeleteI know this will prove that my parenting skills are lacking, but I hate making school lunches. My kiddo only eats pizza, chicken fingers, and corn dogs. And fruit. I'm pretty sure his teachers make fun of me behind my back.
ReplyDeletevery glad to hear my kids aren't the only picky eaters out there. there are days when JT will only eat mashed potatoes (have to be instant) and mac and cheese. I was a picky eater, but even I wasn't that picky! of course, he'll eat chocolate bars any day of the week, go figure.
