This is What It's All About

I recently found my way to a blog called Finding Ninee. I forget just how I found my way there, but after years of dealing with the term "developmental delay" I was happy and relieved to find another family in a situation very similar to ours. Kristi recently created a link-love feature on her blog where families like us can connect and share. That's what this post is about. If you found your way here from her page, welcome!

We're not just another ordinary family

We are the Cottons.  We are a family of four.  We are a military family.  We are a family with a son and a daughter.  We are a family with healthy, happy children.  We are a family affected by Special Education.

Follow By Email & Leave Comments

I must make a confession.  I am a blog-aholic.  Yes, it's true.  I don't know the total number of blogs I follow, but there are many.  I follow teacher's blogs even though I'm not a teacher myself.  I follow home decor and DIY blogs because I aspire to create great things.  And, of course, I follow coupon blogs!  Yep, I can spend hours in blog land.

Welcome to Meet the Cottons

Our family photo from 2010.

We took this photo in our backyard
during Casey's two week R&R
from Afghanistan. He's in the Army.

That's our daughter Patty and our son JT.

Wow, time really does fly.
We're all a little "healthier" now!
Note to self: begin exercise program!

Hello and welcome to my new family blog, Meet the Cottons.  My name is Misty Cotton and I got the blogging bug about a year ago and created a couponing blog called The Hopkins County Couponer.  I recently decided to depart from the world of coupon blogging, but couldn't fight the urge to blog about, well, something.  Once you start blogging, it's not an easy habit to give up.  Since I love to post things on facebook (and really love reading the things other people post) I decided to try my hand at a family blog.  Facebook always feels like the teaser headline without all the juicy details.  But, a blog, on the other hand, is kind of like running into an old friend at the grocery store and having them show you a thousand tiny photos on their cell phone.  But with one very important difference: you can just "x" out of anything you're not interested in!  I hope this blog will be filled with great pictures of my kids and great stories about our lives.  I'm not going to claim that we're the most interesting folks to read about, but maybe you'll find something that amuses you!  Enjoy!  And leave lots of comments!
