I have just been perusing the SurfKY News website and stumbled upon one of the smartest things I have ever read. You need to read it, too. It's called Letter to the Editor by Shaun Roberts. Just click that pretty blue text and it should open a new window directly to the article. I'm going to have to find out which district Mr. Roberts magistrates, because I'm really hoping it's my district. I will never pretend to follow the politics here in our great county, but I am in love with Mr. Roberts take on a couple things going on locally.

This Mother's Outrage
Good Sunday morning. Well, it might be a good Sunday morning for some folks, but my day isn't turning out as good as I had planned. All week I've been reminding my husband that we have to pick up a copy of the Sunday Messenger because it's going to contain coverage of the "Olympic Field Day" hosted at Central High last Monday. All week I've been looking forward to this. And now, with newspaper in hand, I can simply say that I am outraged. OUTRAGED!
Central Hosts "Olympic Field Day" 2012
Monday, April 23, 2012; Hopkins County Central High School, Barnsley, KY.
Hopkins County Central High School students and faculty came together to support fellow students today in the South end of the county. Each year, Central hosts an "Olympic Field Day" inviting students with special needs to participate in a wide variety of sporting events and a game carnival. This year's event welcomed students from many of our elementary and middle schools.

Follow By Email & Leave Comments
I must make a confession. I am a blog-aholic. Yes, it's true. I don't know the total number of blogs I follow, but there are many. I follow teacher's blogs even though I'm not a teacher myself. I follow home decor and DIY blogs because I aspire to create great things. And, of course, I follow coupon blogs! Yep, I can spend hours in blog land.Welcome to Meet the Cottons
The Hopkins County Couponer. I recently decided to depart from the world of coupon blogging, but couldn't fight the urge to blog about, well, something. Once you start blogging, it's not an easy habit to give up. Since I love to post things on facebook (and really love reading the things other people post) I decided to try my hand at a family blog. Facebook always feels like the teaser headline without all the juicy details. But, a blog, on the other hand, is kind of like running into an old friend at the grocery store and having them show you a thousand tiny photos on their cell phone. But with one very important difference: you can just "x" out of anything you're not interested in! I hope this blog will be filled with great pictures of my kids and great stories about our lives. I'm not going to claim that we're the most interesting folks to read about, but maybe you'll find something that amuses you! Enjoy! And leave lots of comments!
