Happy Halloween & Kids say...

Happy Halloween!  Ta-da!  This is the 100th post on this little ol' blog.  100 posts of craziness, right?  Ha ha.

Our house has been alive since 4:30 this morning...no uninterrupted time for me today!  It all started when JT decided he was going to work with Daddy this morning and I had to restrain him at the back door kicking and screaming.  Such a great way to start the day.  That madness woke Patty and here we are, wide awake.

So, I asked the kids to pick up the toys in the playroom before I jumped in the shower.  Picking up is not something the kids ever enjoy (big surprise, no?), but I thought picking up because cousin JJ would be coming today would help win them over.  Well, I just got out of the shower to have Patty give me the most pitiful look and tell me, "Picking up is hard.  I want to go back to bed."  To which I told her, "I know picking up is hard and you can go back to bed."  I swear she was holding back a smile when she said, "And my tummy's getting a headache."  It was so cute!  She often complains of a stomach ache when it's time to clean up, but this was the first time her tummy had a headache!  Love it.

Just the other day she got up, looked at the front door window, and said, "Oh my gosh.  We gotta clean that window."  No excited inflection at all.  Just a matter of fact statement.  By "wash" she actually meant "play" in the condensation that had buildup over night.  So what would any good mother do?  I opened the inside door and let her smear around in the condensation on the "screen door".  Really, it's better than writing on the walls with marker, right?
