Wife-y Rant: Follow the Directions Already!

I love reading these eCards.  Sometimes, they are so utterly fitting to my life.

I shouldn't complain because Casey did make breakfast for everyone yesterday.  But, I am me and I just can't help myself!

I started noticing this a few weeks ago.  Casey never cooks the biscuits on the right temperature.  We buy the frozen kind and the package says to cook on 375.

Yesterday, he had the oven cranked up to 450!
It gave new meaning to the phrase "brown as a biscuit".
I did feel a little bad as I snapped the picture and he said,
"I never complain about your cooking."

Then, I thought, "Maybe you never complain because I follow the cooking directions."  To be fair, I am very set in my ways.  And I am very happy when he makes breakfast.  I would be even happier if the biscuits were cooked on 375, but a brown biscuit is still a good biscuit, I guess!

  1. Tee hee! Well, maybe he does it on purpose so that in the end you do it yourself? ;-) Just a thought.
BTW, I did not find the thing about the girl scout cookies on your page! Could you please provide me with a link? You made me curious!

    1. that thought has occured to me, too! mostly when it comes to things like loading the dishwasher!

thought I had put a link to the GS Cookies in a post but, I had not! so, go to: http://www.girlscouts.org/program/gs_cookies/meet_the_cookies.asp
for some reason Patty's troop did not get the Mango Cremes, the Thanks-a-lot, or the Lemonades. not sure why, but i wanted to try the Thanks-a-lot! the top three cookies chosen by our friends and family were Samoas, Tagalongs, and DoSiDos. Have fun choosing!

    2. Hmmm, they all sound good! Can you recommend the Samoas? Savannah Smiles sound yummy, too! Which is your favourite one?

    3. lol. without a doubt, tagalongs are my favorite. a lot of folks love samoas. if you are a fan of coconut, chocolate, and i think carmel, those will not disappoint. i don't like cooonut so i haven't tried them. a lot of folks also really like thin mints. i have tried them but they weren't for me. a chocolate cake like cookie covered in chocolate with a minty flavor. this may be the thoughest decision of your life! ha ha.

    4. You know, Girl Scouts should make a sampler box. I bet that would be a big hit!

    5. Yeah, a sampler box would totally be it! Do you know "After Eight" in the US? I imagine the Thin Mints being a bit similar to them. I am not such a big fan of mint in chocolate. Have you tried the Savannah Smiles?

    6. i've never tried the After Eights, but i'll be keeping an eye out. i bet they have them at the commissary on base. i don't think the GS Thin Mint has a white minty layer inside, not that i recall at least. haven't tried the Savannah Smiles, not a big lemon fan. a couple folks i know like them, though! what is your favorite cookie or candy?
