Are you watching Life's a Tripp?

So, I don't really consider myself a fan of reality tv.  You should know I don't consider Surviror to be a reality show, it's must watch tv and I eagerly watch every episode.  But, I'm not blogging about Survior today.  I'm blogging about Bristol.

You Know Your Child Best

You know, when Patty began Kindergarten last year, I had no idea that things were amiss.  Some of the information I was getting seemed a bit strange, to me.  Like it was a little more than I really needed to know as a parent of a Kindergarten student.  I often compare the experience with buying a used car.  When someone is trying to sell you a real lemon, they try really hard to make you think you're getting the best lemonade money can buy, right?  Well, that "used car sales man" feeling snow balled for me during that first year of public school.  It was a wake up call.  It was the reason I started asking more questions and paying closer attention.  It was my blessing in disguise.

Your Family Will Thank You for Reading This Article

I love the articles posted by The Friendship Circle Blog.  They are helpful and informative and hit really close to the matters that matter most to me.  When I read 10 Hurtful Comments From Relatives About Your Child With Special Needs in my email today, I knew I had to pin it to my Pinterest board and put a link on the blog.  Here's the one piece of advice I would add to The Friendship Circle article: Do NOT compare my child with another child with a special need.

Earn and Return Cards for Kids!

This is a strange thing to share since it's been another whole month since my last blog post!
But, I came across Earn & Return cards in a teaching supply magazine and thought: hey, those are totally DIY-able!  (Many things in those magazines are totally DIY-able).  The catalog had them priced around 13-cents EACH plus shipping and handling.  Yikes, that's expensive!  So, I headed to my favorite computer program and did a DIY version.

To Yard Sale or Not to Yard Sale

Every summer I ask myself, do I have a yard sale or not?  I'm a big believer that it's not really cost effective to have a yard sale.  And, it's hot to sit out and tend to a yard sale.  Plus, you have to price things, and I never know what price to put on things.  But, I'm also a big believer that I have stuff I want to be rid of!  I mean, who's going to wear those kids clothes now that my kids have out grown them?  And I know I have toys stored away that we'll never get any use out of.

Our Schools, Let's Compare

PLEASE NOTE: Some of this post is 110% my opinion. If you don't like my opinions, please spare yourself a rise in blood pressure and read something else. I hear the weather channel can be riveting.  Since this is a "read at your own risk" kind of post, I have included a "jump break" so that you have to click "read more" in order to read the rest of it.  I know, it annoys me, too.
