Congratulations to Ms. Anita!

I was super happy to hear that my son's preschool teacher was honored by the Board of Ed on Monday night!  Ms. Anita was awarded the "Classroom of Excellence" distinction by the Kentucky Department of Education earlier this year.  In addition to a lovely certificate, she was awarded an iPad for her Classroom of Excellence!  You can read about it on the Board of Ed's website

Receiving the "Classroom of Excellence" distinction is no easy task.  Of all of the preschool classrooms in the state, only 29 have been honored with this award.  I'm told four out of those 29 are preschool classrooms in Hopkins County.  It makes me so happy to know that our preschool teachers are achieving great things for our children!

Ms. Anita is currently JT's preschool teacher, but she was also Patty's teacher for two years.  It didn't take an award for me to appreciate the wonderful things going on in her preschool classroom.  All I needed to do was think of my daughter when she began preschool at the age of three, and then see the leaps and bounds she made during those two years with Ms. Anita, Ms. Kathy, and Ms. Holly.  With every drawing and craft project JT brings home, I can see how hard Ms. Anita, Ms. Kathy, and Ms. Lora have worked this year.  To say that preschool teachers are amazing is an understatement!  I don't think there are enough words to really describe the wonderful things they accomplish in only a few short months.

It is with a happy heart that I say "Congratulations!" to Ms. Anita, Ms. Kathy, and Ms. Lora.  Thank you for introducing me to the Weather Song and the Days of the Week Song, teaching my kids to put their little hands over their hearts and recite the Pledge of Allegience, for filling your classroom with interesting things for little minds and hands (I really liked that tornado bottle!), for teaching them to count, to say their ABCs, teaching them colors and numbers, and especially for that sombrero and skirt that Patty loved to wear!  Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!
