So, you know how your kids can get into the biggest messes when you have your attention on something else? Well, that's just what happened on night last week when Casey was working late. We were actually having a good evening. Supper was over, baths were over, and I think I was doing laundry. Then, here comes Patty with black stuff all over her face! JT had colored her face like an elephant, he explained. He even polka dotted her legs! All I can say is, thank goodness for eye makeup remover....and washable markers!
You might see JT's picture in the middle there and think he's sick. But, he isn't. He's been out of preschool for a week and into everything else! He told me he was taking his "temper-er". I told him to leave the thermometer alone because I didn't want this one (a new one we had to buy recently) to get mysteriously reset to read Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. It's kind of a pain to have to take the temp and then use the Internet to convert it (did you know that Internet is capitalized?). Guess I could have just learned the math, huh?
My favorite moment in the past couple weeks happened just yesterday! Patty lost her third tooth! Casey had been practically begging her all weekend to let him pull it. It was really just barely hanging on. We even tried to bribe her with a trip to Toys R Us. I guess she knew we'd take her to the toy store regardless of the tooth because we went there on Saturday and the tooth didn't come out until Sunday! We put the tooth (after a good rinse) into a baggie with the date and the tooth location. Then she wanted to put the tooth fairies name on it. Then I let her write her own name on the baggie. So proud to watch her write all by herself!
