Here's a fun fact about me, though: I love to read books that have been made into movies. Now that I am hearing speculation about who will be cast in the movie version, my resolve not to read this trilogy is waning quite a bit. So, having never read the books, I am probably the last person needing to share her opinion about who should be cast as billionaire playboy, Christian Grey.
I'm betting the powers that be will choose an unknown actor for this role. Don't know why, it's just a gut feeling. Oh, and I think he'll be British; for some reason I'm thinking the author is British which should mean that the book has a bit more "bridget jones" and a bit less "twilight". Anyhoo, here's my two cents worth.
I'd pass on Ryan Gossling from the get go, he just isn't "bad boy" enough, although he is a very versitile actor and I like him in everything I've watched. I heard someone say David Beckham would be great because he's in great shape, plus he's a Brit, but I really hope he just keeps it on the soccer field. Hands down, I'd cast Ian Somerhalder. Love him in The Vampire Diaries and have loved him since dragging Casey to the movies to watch The Rules of Attraction a million years ago. As you can see, my fourth pic is of Justin Timberlake. Now, I haven't heard anyone else mention him, but I think he'd be one to watch out for. He's kind of dorky, but he is "bringing sexy back"...
While googling for a picture of the book, I came across this Entertainment Weekly cover that proclaims Matt Bomer (who?) is going to be Christian Grey. I dug a little deeper and discovered this magzine cover is a hoax. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy gets the role. FYI, he plays in a show called White Collar on the USA network.
